Rusty & Christine  welcome you to the Garlieston Lodge web site. Garlieston Lodge is situated in the village of Garlieston. The Lodge was originally built in the 1800's as a Gate Lodge for Galloway House, the seat of the Earl of Galloway and also sits in its own 5 acres of woodland with a small river running through it feeding our fishing lake stocked with rainbow and brown trout. We have a breeding herd of Britain’s only all-black pedigree Large Black pigs, and on the rest of the small holding we have free range hens, geese and ducks.  Wild deer can often be seen in the morning drinking from our lake.

Garlieston Harbour is steeped in maritime history and is the birth place of the floating Mulberry Harbours and the coastline at Wigtown Bay is home to an internationally recognised conservation reserve, important for wintering whooper swans, pink-footed geese, pintail and curlew.

Garlieston is the ideal  place to spend a holiday or weekend break. The harbour village has two shops, (one of which is also a post office). A  bowling green, tennis courts and two art galleries. But most importantly a pub offering superb food and excellent hospitality.

The Harbour, which is less than a  minutes walk away from the Lodge, provides an excellent  slipway to launch from and enjoy the Wigtown Bay estuary.
